源義経2 Minamoto no Yoshitsune2

源義経の兄、源頼朝は、父の仇を討ち、平家を滅ぼすため、兵を挙げました。

Minamoto no Yoritomo, the elder brother of Yoshitsune, raised an army to avenge their father and to overthrow the Taira clan.

義経は頼朝に協力して軍に加わり、様々な手柄を立てます。一ノ谷の戦いでは、70騎を率いて崖を駆け下り、1万の敵兵を混乱に陥れたとも言われます。また海戦では、敵味方の船を身軽に飛び回り、活躍したと言われています。

Yoshitsune, in cooperation with Yoritomo, joined the army and achieved various military exploits. In the Battle of Ichinotani, it is said that he descended a cliff with 70 horsemen, causing confusion among an enemy force of 10,000 soldiers.It is said that Yoshitsune also played an active role in naval battles, agilely leaping around enemy and ally ships.

そんな義経の活躍を、兄である頼朝は頼りにしていましたが、源頼朝軍が勝利を収め戦いが終わると、頼朝は優秀な弟義経の強さや人気を恐れるようになりました。

Yoritomo, Yoshitsune’s older brother, relied on Yoshitsune’s achievements and contributions. However, after the victories of the Minamoto clan and the conclusion of the battles, Yoritomo began to fear the strength and popularity of his talented younger brother, Yoshitsune.

行き違いや他の人の讒言などが原因で、頼朝と義経の仲は悪くなり、頼朝は義経討伐を決めました。

Due to misunderstandings and slanderous accusations from others, the relationship between Yoritomo and Yoshitsune deteriorated, and Yoritomo decided to subdue Yoshitsune.
