金沢21世紀美術館は、現代アートを気軽に楽しめる美術館です。せっかくなので、代表的な作品「スイミング・プール」の地下空間を見学したいと思い、事前予約をしました。
予約は当日9時からインターネットで受付です。メールアドレスと希望時間を入力するだけなので、あらかじめ準備しておくと安心です。私は9時ちょうどに予約しましたが、まだどの時間帯にも空きがありました。
The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is a museum where visitors can casually enjoy contemporary art. Since I wanted to see its most famous work, The Swimming Pool, I made a reservation in advance.
Reservations open at 9:00 a.m. on the day of your visit through the museum’s website. You simply enter your email address and preferred time slot, so it’s a good idea to have everything ready beforehand. I booked my visit right at 9:00 a.m., and every time slot was still available.
館内では、作品だけでなく建物そのものも魅力です。ガラスを多く使った開放的な空間の中で、さまざまな現代アートを鑑賞できます。
印象に残ったのは、村上慧さんの作品です。発泡スチロールで作った移動式の家に住みながら全国を旅するというユニークな活動を紹介しています。人間の持ち物を最小限まで削った住居、ミニマリズムを体現した作品です。
The museum itself is just as fascinating as the artworks on display. Its open, light-filled architecture, featuring extensive use of glass, provides an ideal setting for appreciating a wide variety of contemporary art.
One of the works that impressed me most was by the artist Satoshi Murakami. It introduces his unique project of traveling across Japan while living in a portable house made of Styrofoam. The tiny dwelling, reduced to only the bare essentials, embodies the idea of minimalism.
金沢能楽美術館 Kanazawa Noh Museum
21世紀美術館のすぐ隣には、金沢能楽美術館があります。土日には能装束の着付け体験も行われていると知り行ってみました。私が訪れたときには終了していましたが、美しい装束や扇などの小道具を間近で見ることができ、役柄によって使われる道具が異なることなども詳しく知ることができました。
能面の中でも有名なものが般若の面です。
鬼の面ですが、裏切られた女性が嫉妬や悲しみの末に鬼となった姿を表しています。そのため、恐ろしさだけでなく、どこか悲しげな表情にも見えました。『道成寺』などの演目で使われます。
Right next to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art is the Kanazawa Noh Museum. After learning that visitors can try on authentic Noh costumes on weekends, I decided to stop by. Although the dressing experience had already ended by the time I arrived, I was still able to admire the beautiful costumes, fans, and other stage props up close. I also learned how the costumes and accessories vary depending on the role being performed.
One of the most famous Noh masks is the Hannya mask. Although it appears to be the face of a demon, it actually represents a woman who has been betrayed and transformed into a demon through overwhelming jealousy and sorrow. For this reason, the mask conveys not only fear but also a deep sense of sadness. It is famously used in classic Noh plays such as Dōjōji.
２日目は、早朝の兼六園、金城霊澤、金沢城へ行きました。
On the second day, I visited Kenroku-en Garden early in the morning, followed by Kinjo Reitaku and Kanazawa Castle.
