弁慶の足跡 Benkei’s Footprints?

寺は昔のテーマパークと言われますが

Temples are often referred to as ancient theme parks.

物珍しい物がたくさんあります。弁慶の足跡と言われています。弁慶は、源義経の家来で、その強さで数々の伝説を作り、最後には義経をかばって矢を受け立ち続けたまま死んだとされる忠臣です。

There are many unusual items here. It’s said to be Benkei’s footprints. Benkei弁慶 was a retainer of Minamoto no Yoshitsune源義経, and his strength gave rise to numerous legends. In the end, he died while standing and shielding Yoshitsune, enduring arrows until the last moment—a loyal retainer.

弁慶の杖。本物のわけがないのですが、なぜか家に帰って話してしまう旅の思い出。

Benkei’s staff. There’s no way it could be real, but for some reason, it become a story shared when travelers get back home, a memory from their travels.

縁結びの神社 Matchmaking Shrine

目を閉じたまま一つの石からもう一つの石まで歩けると、願いが叶うそうです。

It is said that if you can walk from one stone to another with your eyes closed, your wish will come true.
