龍は、日本では日照りの時に雨を降らしてくれる神聖なものとされてきました。日本の主食である米を作るためには、多くの雨が必要なため、雨を降らせてくれる龍は特別な存在でした。中国や日本では、皇帝の象徴として使われることもあります。
In Japan, dragons have been considered sacred to rain when times of drought. To make rice, which is the staple food of Japan, it takes a lot of water, so the dragon that makes it rain was a special existence.In China or Japan, it is sometimes used as a symbol of the emperor.
今年は辰年なので、龍に縁のある場所に行ってみました。
This year is the year of the dragon in Japan, so I went to a place related to the dragon.
室生口大野駅を出て、バスに乗ります。
I left Muroguchi Ono Station and got on the bus.
20分ほどで神社に到着します。
I arrived at the shrine in about 20 minutes.
龍の住む洞窟があるということなので、行ってみました。
It is said that there is a cave where dragons live, so I went there.
本当にこれで正しい道なのかと疑いながら、歩くこと約30分。
It takes about 30 minutes to walk, doubting that this is really the right way.
途中に天の岩戸伝説の岩があります。
On the way, there is a rock of the legend of Ama no Iwato.
鳥居の向こうの階段を降ります。Go down the stairs beyond the torii gate.
龍が住むという岩。周囲の森の雰囲気もあり、とても神々しいです。結構歩きますが、来て良かったと思いました。
The rock where the dragon lives. There is also the atmosphere of the surrounding forest, and it is very divine. I walk a lot, but I was glad I came.
古代の人々が神聖な地と考えたのも当然だと思えるような、清々しい雰囲気のある場所でした。
