日本遺産 呉 Japanese Heritage Kure
宮島口駅から電車で約70分
It takes about 70 minutes by train from Miyajimaguchi Station to Kure Station.
明治大正期の建物の残る、呉市入船山記念館
Kure City Irifuneyama Memorial Museum is a building that was built during the Meiji-Taisho period and still retains its historical architecture.
上の写真は、大正期の門と塔時計
The above picture is a gate and clock tower from the Taisho period.

From the front ,the residence appears as shown in the above picture. The building from the Meiji period.
表は洋館ですが、裏に回ると下のように見えます。
The front is a Western-style building.When viewed from the back, it appears as shown below.

昭和期までは一般的であった、畳の間と床の間
Tatami rooms and “tokonoma” alcove rooms were common until the Showa period.

この建物は、呉鎮守府司令長官官舎でした。
This building used to be the official residence of the Commander-in-Chief of Kure Naval District.
表側は洋館で、司令長官の応接室や食堂があり、公的な場所として使われていたそうです。
The front side is a Western-style building that used to house the Commander-in-Chief’s reception room and dining hall, and was used as a public space.
裏側は日本家屋で、司令長官の家族の場として私的に使われていたそうです。
The back side is a Japanese-style house that used to be privately used as a space for the Commander-in-Chief’s family.
