Merry Christmas

宮島水族館です。本当は厳島神社が撮りたいのですが、インターネットでの掲載に許可が必要のようなので、この写真を載せます。

It’s Miyajima Aquarium. I really want to take a picture of Itsukushima Shrine, but permission is required to be posted them on the Internet, so I will post this photo.

伝統的な舞「蘭陵王」像。蘭陵王は、古代中国に実在した人物で、わずか500騎で敵の大軍を破る名将でしたが、あまりにも美しいので兵士たちが見惚れてしまうのを防ぐため、仮面をつけて戦ったとされています。

Traditional Japanese dance “Lanling King” statue. Lanling was a real person in ancient China, and he was a great general who defeated the enemy’s army with only 500 horsemen, but it is said that he fought with a mask to prevent the soldiers from being fascinated by his beauty because he was so beautiful.

この舞は、お正月などに厳島神社で奉納されます。

This dance is dedicated at Itsukushima Shrine on New Year’s Day.
