女性たちの祈りを聴いた寺 A temple that listened to the prayers of women
室生寺は、女人高野とも言われます。明治時代まで、有名な高野山には女性は入れませんでしたが、室生寺は女性救済の寺として女性の祈りを聴いてきました。この時代、多くの寺院は女性の立ち入りを禁じてきました。これは、僧は女性に触れてはならないという戒律があったことによるようです。そのため、女性は多くの寺院に入ることができず、救いを求めて祈ることができませんでした。室生寺は長い間、女性の祈りを受け入れてきた数少ない寺の一つです。
Murou-ji Temple is also said to be a woman Koya. Until the Meiji period, women were not able to enter the famous Mt. Koya高野山(there are very important temples in Mt.Koya) , but Murou-ji Temple has listened to women’s prayers as a temple for women. In this era, many temples have prohibited women from entering. This is due to the precept that monks should not touch women. Therefore, women could not enter many temples and could not pray for salvation. Murou-ji Temple is one of the few temples that have accepted women’s prayers for a long time.
室生寺で有名なのは、屋外の塔としては日本最小と言われる五重塔です。

どの建物も、他の寺院より少し小さく、そして曲線的で優美です。

階段も登りやすいです。

仏様も、優美な雰囲気でした。1000年以上もの間、女性たちに癒しを与え続けた室生寺は、今もしっかりと山中に佇んでいます。
