京都の夏も暑いですが、奈良の夏も暑いと言われます。そんな古都、奈良にちなんだ神社を見つけました。奈良の春日大社のすぐ近くにある、氷室神社です。
Summer in Kyoto is very hot, and summer in Nara is also hot. I found a shrine named after such an ancient city,Nara.It is Himuro Shrine, which is very close to Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara.
氷室は、暑い夏のために、冬の間にできた氷を保存しておく小屋です。ここで保存された氷は、夏に奈良や京都の宮廷や貴族の館で使用されていたと言われます。
Himuro is a hut that stores the ice made during the winter for the hot summer. It is said that the ice preserved here was used in the courts and aristocratic mansions in Nara and Kyoto in the summer.
この神社では、氷室を創ったとされる神様をお祭りしているようです。

お金を入れると機械仕掛けで音楽が演奏され、神様に奉納されるそうです。
