日本の家には、神聖な場所がいくつかあります。神棚、仏壇、竈門、井戸、等等。神様が住んでいると信じられている場所ですね。もちろん踏んではいけません。

この部屋の中では、まず、床の間は特別な場所なので踏んではいけないとされます。次に、右下、小さな畳がありますが、ここには茶道で使う炉が隠れているので、踏んではいけません。さらに、畳の縁も、踏んではいけないという伝統ですね。
