厳島神社に行ってきました　Itsukushima Shrine.

厳島神社では、烏が神の使いとされています。

At Itsukushima Shrine, crows are considered messengers of the gods.

私は烏に出会えませんでしたが、白鷺は飛んでいました。

I didn’t encounter any crows, but there were white herons flying.

ちなみに『平家物語』では、平清盛は、船にスズキが飛び込んできてから出世したと言われています。

By the way, in “The Tale of the Heike”, it is said that the Japanese military leader of Heian period, Taira no Kiyomori, began to rise to power after a sea bass jumped into his boat.
